Introducing the PowerNotes Insight score
The PowerNotes Insight score is calculated based on the work students put into our system: highlights, annotations, organizational structure, and the time it took to do all of these things. This body of work is compared to the student’s final paper, and a score is generated based on how correlated the two are. The higher the score, the higher the correlation more correlated the two are.
How the score is calculated can also be customized by the instructor for any given assignment. The instructor can provide metrics such as “the number of expected sources used for the assignment” to preferentially weight the metrics used for calculating the score. This also allows us to calculate a real-time score before the final artifact is submitted.

Power to the process.
PowerNotes sets itself apart with features focused on meaningful student engagement throughout the reading, research, analysis, and writing process.
Instructional Scaffolding
PowerNotes provides a pedagogically sound framework and efficient workflows for students, instructors, and researchers.
Rooted in Academia
Our team is working with leading academic institutions to develop Insight and to ensure that it meets the needs of the academic community now and into the future.
Critical Insights
Our patent-pending algorithm will provide educators with an Insight score so they can quickly determine which projects may need to be looked at more carefully. Projects with low scores will be flagged for review.
Explore Proof-of-Work
Educators can quickly assess a project's research and writing history to provide evidence of potential authorship issues. These histories can be referenced during academic code violation conversations.
Moving Forward Responsibly
We understand that AI and the idea of its use in academia can be polarizing and intimidating. We allow educators to choose exactly when and how AI is used in their coursework.
Cheaters Beware
Once students know that educators have a means of viewing coursework engagement, many will weigh the risks and consequences of cheating.
